Glossary

The words are in alphabetical order, with the Danish word used in the system in brackets. Many of the game’s words (for example EP, Ability, Coin) can be renamed by each association; see Terms.

Word Meaning
Administrator The role with all permissions on an installation. Only an administrator can give other people roles.
Campaign (kampagne) The long series of events where the same characters keep playing and earn EP.
Character (karakter) The role a player plays. Has a race, abilities, fields and a history. A player can have several characters.
Context (sammenhæng) Where a setting or a piece of content applies: in a particular one-shot or (later) in the campaign. Used by the one-shot modules.
Core (kerne) The parts of LV-Database that are always on: players, characters, abilities and professions, roles and permissions, settings.
Emergency login (nødindgangen) The login page /admin/login with e-mail and password. Always works for everyone with a role beyond Player.
EP Experience points: what characters earn and spend on abilities and professions in a campaign. The word can be renamed.
Event (arrangement) A single event (for example “Demo-Live 2”) with a start and an end. Campaign events are managed in the Events module; the time between two events is an interim period.
Game world (spilverden) The rules and words of your game: races, abilities, professions, currencies, counters, custom fields and terms.
Installation One running copy of LV-Database for one association, with its own database, keys and domain. LV-Live is one installation; the test installation is another.
Integration A connection to an external system with keys, for example Wix, Vipps MobilePay or LV-Forening. Turned on and set up on the Modules page.
Module (modul) A part of the system that can be turned on and off per installation, for example Campsite booking or One-shots. A module that is off disappears from the menu; its data is kept.
One-shot An event alongside the campaign with its own participants and characters, a fixed EP pool and archiving in one go when it is over.
Organisation The association’s details in the installation: name, logo, theme, languages, sender, fixed links and master data (address, CVR number).
Player (spiller) A person with an account in the installation. Everyone logs in as a player; administrators are players with more roles.
Role (rolle) A set of permissions, for example Administrator, Organiser or Player. A player can have several roles.
Template (skabelon) A package with a whole game world — modules, settings, terms, counters, custom fields and rules — that can be loaded into an installation. Never contains personal data.
Terms (termer) The game’s words, which each installation can rename (for example EP, Ability, Coin). Changed under Game world → Terms (Spilverden → Begreber).
Test installation LV’s installation with demo data, where new versions are tried out before they are released. The screenshots in the wiki come from there.
Ticket core (billetkerne) The one place in LV-Database where all tickets, orders and payments are collected — whether they come from Wix or from the system’s own tickets. Check-in, the door scanner and “has a ticket” read only the ticket core.
